i think the only other THRASH band that i really dig is old slayer...their solo's are just gross...'DANCE WITH THE DEAD IN MY DREAMS...LISTEN TO THE HOLLOW SCREAMS...THE DEAD HAVE TAKEN MY SOUL...TEMPTATION LOST ALL CONTROL!!!!!!'

I didn't start listening to Metallica regularly until And Justice For All came out. I started to like a lot of the popular thrash bands at the same time. I just all of a sudden began to like that kind of music.

I think MASTER OF PUPPETS is THE Heavy Metal album...it changed my life the first time i heard it...they are saying that they are trying to recapture the magic of MOP with the new album...i don't know if thats a good idea, but metallica has 'sold out' with every album they've released after Kill 'em All...when Ride the Lightning came out they were criticized for a ballad (fade to black) when Puppets came out they were criticized for trying to be 'too heavy' when...

I like their older music much better than what they've put out in the past few years. Back when they were considered to be a thrash metal band is when they were at their best!

Yeah, Hetfield looked so cool way back when. Now he's kinda ... pfffftttt. ;-) I lost interest in Metallica when they went mainstream, but sounds like they might be doing some...

I've heard a few songs from Jerry's solo work, but not the entire albums. I was hoping he would go back to his solo career, but maybe he will do that later. I wish AIC would've changed their name after they got their new lead singer. The name Alice In Chains reminds me too much of Layne.

Have you heard Jerry's solo albums? Boggy Depot (released in 1998 or 1999, I believe) is decent, but degradation trip...that album is pure genius and I'd put it up against anything that AIC released after DIRT...I don't know why he doesn't keep it as a solo act and incorporate the new guy's vocals...I guess more money is to be made off of AIC's name...sorry to get off topic here...

Anywho...the Metallica website is a total waste of time so far...they lost my...

it'll never be alice in chains without layne stayley...i saw them live with the new guy in '05 on the summer leg of that tour...and it was great to hear J.C. play guitar and sing...but you could tell, live, the new singer was the odd man out...he sounded good enough...but it just wasn't there...kind of hard to explain unless you've seen it...

Oh man!! My son is 23 years old and he loves Matallica! He is a Metallica fan big time! I wonder if i should enter that contest for him, so that he can get the backstage pass? I don't care much for them, but my son does. Besides, i think the lead singer looks much better with his long hair back in the day. Yes he is...in 2006 Metallica did 2 shows where they plaed the entire MOP album to commemorate its 20th anniversary...Trujillo did some AMAZING bass work on those shows

I signed up for this last week...so far no updates...and its pretty boring ...SO FAR...metallica is one of mly favorite bands, and I loved the clip of the track that you can briefly catch on the video they have up now...this will be a great album, I'm sure...especially reading how they are wanting to try and modernize and re-invent master of puppets, which is my favorite metal album
